Heading to Holley

Friday morning the sun was shining and the sky was as blue as could be.  The plan for the morning was that our friend Gary would be stopping by right before we casted off for Holley and snap a few photos of the boat as we were pulling away from the dock.  Mike wanted a photo of us on the boat for our boat cards.  So Gary was kind enough to say he would meet us that morning for a "little" photo shoot.

Me tending the lines while Mike starts the engines for departure.

And just like that we were away from the dock and on our way to Holley.  It seriously couldn't not have been a more beautiful morning.

We headed west on the canal to Holley.  The trip this Friday morning was going to be a short one, less than an hour.

On our journey this morning we passed fishermen, people walking, jogging and cycling on the path beside the canal.  Along with all the water fowl.  It seemed everyone was out enjoying the beautiful morning.

We arrived in Holley shortly past 9:30 a.m.  It was a quick trip.  When we arrived we were the only folks on the docks.  It was kind of nice to have the whole place to ourselves.

Holley is known for their beautiful waterfall.  So shortly after securing the boat we headed down the hill to the water fall.  The scenery was so peaceful.

Mille loved spending time down by the water.

Love this photo of the two of us,
could be Christmas card worthy.

After spending some time enjoying the falls we hiked back up the hill to the small town of Holley for a quick walk through town.  It was a quaint little town with some pretty old houses.

And yes this area of town is known as PODUNK.

We returned back to the marina before lunch.  We had planned for this day to just relax and catch up on a few things on the boat.  We would continue most of the day being the only boat there.  We were joined though later in the day by a gentleman on a house boat, but he was docked all the way at the other end.

We did have a little bit of a SNAFU.  Late in the day I had noticed a dripping noise that seemed to be well "bigger" than what I had thought it should be.  So I called Mike down from the bridge and he investigated the issue.  Well it came to be that one of our packing glands was dripping much more than it should be.  So after a trip down to talk with the other boater to see if he had a tool he could borrow and then a trip to the towns hardware store Mike was able to get the dripping to the level it should be.  Once again crisis diverted.

Afterwards Mike worked on the log books while I prepared dinner.  Check out those gorgeous flowers on the table that were given to us from Gary and Lori Skoogs farm.  It was a quiet evening and we retired early.  Saturday we head back to Brockport to pick up Mike's sunglasses that were left at the Skoogs and then on to Spencerport to eventually head back to our home port of Macedon.
