Our Adventures with Kismet: Clyde

Monday morning after the rain and the sun was shining and we were ready to move on to the next town, Clyde. We headed out early 6:30 a.m. for what has become a routine morning walk. We have really started enjoying this time in the morning.

Coming back to the wall where 4 boats including us had been tied up for the night. Not long after our arrival back to the boat the folks from Magic Jeannie were on their way. They were headed to Fairport to meet up with their Son and Grandson.

We went about our regular morning activities, breakfast, showers, etc. I made a point of saying goodbye to the guys at the firehouse and to let them know what really nice facilities they have. We were then headed down to the pump out. And yes that is exactly what you might think it is. It was time to pump out our facilities. Mike has kindly taken over this task and I stand near by for any "mishaps". All went smoothly this morning and we were quickly on our way to Clyde.

The cruise to Clyde would be a short one only about and hour and a half.

Along the canal are so many different types of homes. Some are permanent residence others are seasonal and some well not sure folks have used these places in a while. Still they are fun to look at just to wonder what happy memories had been made there over the years.

We arrived at Clyde about 10:45 a.m. It is a small area, but clean and a very nice park is attached. They don't have any shower facilities but do have bathrooms so that is always a plus. There is free water and electricity which is absolutely a plus.

After our arrival we headed out in search of a grocery store. We wanted to pick up a few things before we headed on. I was able to locate a place in town so we headed out in search of Martins Grocery Outlet. The photo above was taken from the bridge into town. Whew that was a hike, about 20 minutes to the store.

The store is run by a Mennonite family. There was a fresh produce, cheeses, meats, etc. So with 3 bags of groceries later we walked back to the boat. Must admit by the time we arrived back we both were a bit weary. So lunch and possibly a nap for some of us was in store.

After lunch I headed up to the fly bridge to read for a while. This beauty came by and waved. The boat said they were from Wisconsin.

We had a leisurely afternoon. Mike finished some work on the bimini and I did some painting (watercolors) and worked on dinner. I fixed some baked chimichangas and bean salad. After diner we headed out for a bike ride. There was a beautiful bike/walking path made from an old railroad bed. Neither of us had been on our bikes in years, but it came back to us.
