Today we had a fantastic visit from 2 of the "Traveling Sisters" as they are affectionately known. Cyndi and Julie stopped by our floating home to pay us a visit on their way back from painting in Maine. Their beautiful smiles, warm hearts and hugs were a welcome reprieve from our many work days here on Kismet. They arrived at the Marina in the rain and oddly enough they left in the rain, but in-between the rain stopped and we had a lovely visit.
After a short tour (and I mean short) of the boat and some delightful conversation we headed out to do some site seeing. Yes the rain stopped just as we were heading out. We headed first over to Fairport. It's a beautiful town on the canal and very popular with the boaters.
Yes I took photos of flowers, don't I always?
After taking a nice stroll around the town we decided to stop for a late lunch at an Irish Pub. Since the rain had stopped we chose to eat outside. It was a delicious lunch and outstanding conversation. These two ladies have been such an inspiration in my life. Their encouragement, love and support has meant the world to me (and to Mike).
Below was my lunch for the day 'Beef on Weck" Yum!
Mike enjoying his Shepards pie along with the fact he is having lunch with 3 beautiful women. No wonder the man has such a big smile on his face.
Some more shots of Fairport.
A boat heading west on the canal after transiting under the Fairport lift bridge.
After Fairport we made a stop at Lock 29
We then headed over to Newark to see the murals and their waterfront.
The ladies like myself also enjoy taking lots of photos.
We arrived back to the Marina a little after 5:00 p.m. and the ladies headed off to their hotel to rest for their trip home in the morning. It was a wonderful visit and as always we look forward to seeing them both again soon.
Mike and I spent the rest of the evening relaxing. We received a FaceTime call from these 3 sweeties. Love seeing those faces and hearing all their stories. The evening not only brought phone calls from grandsons, but superior cloud formations. Once again I am such a cloud whore and oh those reflections. I was in love.
Shortly after this beautiful cloud show brought another round of rain our way. As we were lying in our bunks watching a little television I noticed that the side of my bed (sheets, and blanket) were wet. Yes there was a new leak that was going to need some investigating but that would have to wait for morning. For now we were off to sleep after a fun filled, relaxing day.
